Our Mission

Literacy is a key for socio-economic progress, and the Indian literacy rate has grown to 79.31% (2011 census). Despite government programmes, India's literacy rate increased only "sluggishly". The 2011 census, indicated a 2001–2011 decadal literacy growth of 9.2%, which is slower than the growth seen during the previous decade. An old analytical 1990 study estimated that it would take until 2060 for India to achieve universal literacy at then-current rate of progress. Do you really want to wait these many years? Also, what we feel is all the problems of a Country like Poverty, Criminalism, Racism etc can be solved if the citizens of the Country are well Educated. Our aim is to grow children into productive citizens that use their knowledge, talents, and learned skills to sustain themselves and help others while pushing the human race forward in areas of equality, equity, and harmony.

Nanhe Khwab Charitable Trust is a registered trust under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. Our organization is primarily volunteer-driven, with the exception of two salaried teachers who provide daily instruction to the children. We are deeply committed to advancing child education for underprivileged communities and currently operate in Delhi/NCR, Gurgaon, Pune, and Mumbai.

A significant part of our mission involves a key partnership with Pragati School in Gurgaon, which falls under the purview of the NGO AID. Pragati School offers fundamental kindergarten education to children aged 5-12 hailing from underprivileged backgrounds. When these young learners are ready to transition to formal education, we play a vital role in facilitating their enrollment in mainstream schools. This process entails careful selection of the appropriate school, securing sponsorship, and ensuring that every child possesses the essential resources necessary for their education.

In our commitment to these young learners, we go beyond the basics. We organize mentoring sessions, arrange for additional tutoring, create opportunities for extracurricular activities, and provide essential books and materials, all aimed at bolstering the educational journey of these children.

Priya Sharma

Software Engineer
A Coder by Profession, a Social Worker by Passion. Over the past ten years, I've dedicated my time and efforts to improving the lives of underprivileged children. My journey began with a chance encounter with a child named Vikas in my neighborhood, and since that moment, I've remained committed to this cause. In my free time, you'll often find me exploring the world solo or with partner, one adventure at a time.

Komal Sharma

Chartered Accountant
Inspired by my elder sister, I was drawn to the idea of establishing our own NGO to contribute to the betterment of society. My sister and I collaborate to brainstorm innovative ways to create opportunities for underprivileged children. She dedicates her time to volunteering in Gurgaon, while I do the same in Mumbai. When I'm not working or volunteering, you'll often find me either surrounded by the serenity of mountains or hitting the gym, staying active and engaged in various pursuits.

Ameen Dhorajiwala

Chartered Accountant
I have a vast and diverse experience in the field of accounting and audit. Apart from the professional interests, I actively participates in social causes and has a passion for educating the masses.
